We are currently accredited with a Bronze award for Rights Respecting Schools and are working towards our Silver Accreditation.

Below you can see a number of great practices across our school. We can see a class charter below for each one of our classrooms. The charters are very individualised and are created each new school year with a new mixture of pupils and teachers within each classroom. Additionally, you can see several pictures of how we celebrate pupils and their successes, from our Wider Achievement wall display, to the weekly Well Done Assemblies where parents are invited to share in these successes as well. We also have some pictures here of our calm spaces across the school.

Also, we have a designated Nurture Room as well as calm spaces offered in our classrooms for children to utilise as needed.

Children are learning about their Rights from the United Nations Convention on Rights of a Child as a base. This is showcased here in a variety of activities and wall displays. We can see the children have learned about Areas of Self-Regulation, labelling feelings and learning which coping strategies work for them. They have also learned, in the upper stages, of the timeline on how their rights have came to be created. Additionally, children are learning about their own identity and what makes them unique in the ‘Marvelous Me’ and ‘Different is not Bad’ work as well as taking part in a Christmas Card Competition to raise awareness for a national charity – Mary’s Meals.

Children have also began a campaign to regain the enjoyment of their local park. You can see children creating posters in a group here to advertise and protest the things that have been happening in the local park that are making it feel unsafe for them.

Children have also made contributions to the National Charity ‘Mary’s Meals’. We raised £30 from selling crafted Trees of hope and Tree of hope Christmas cards. This was then doubled by donors so in total £60 was raised. This feeds 3 children for a year. Well done! Additionally, Children have raised funds locally this year, at our annual Christmas Fayre. These funds were used to for the Pupil Council/ Rights Respecting Schools Steering Group to purchase PE and Sports equipment.
