Eco Schools

At Inveraray Primary School we are very active in taking care of our Environment. We are proud to have been awarded the Green Flag first in January of 2003. Since then, we have been dedicated to maintaining our Eco Schools Green Flag status and our commitment to a whole school, pupil-led approach to learning for sustainability.

We are happy to announce that we have earned our 10th Green Flag. This is rare and we are very proud of the children for maintaining over the years, a dedication to sustainability and learning about our environment.

Gardening Club

We have a gardening club at Inveraray Primary School that had a very successful harvest in the Spring of 2024. We will be continuing this impactful club this school year as well. Children learn the work it takes to grow produce and the science needed to properly nourish plants. They learn about taking care of the school grounds and building relationships throughout this work. We are very grateful for Pete, our gardening volunteer, who shows up consistently!

Grant Funding 2024

Inveraray Primary School has been awarded £9,000 as part of The Scottish Governments Nature Restoration Grant. We would like to develop a natural learning environment around the pond for our pupils. There will be an increase in the biodiversity on site for pupils. Pupils will learn about local habitats, food chains and life cycles.

Grounds Day 2024

In Spring 2024, we held a Grounds Day at our beautiful school site. During this day we harvested apples, set up flower tubs throughout the grounds, litter picked and painted the sheds, amongst other beautifying efforts. We invited the community and enjoyed taking pride in our large school grounds.

Litter Picking

The ECO Committee, with Mr. Sinclair, took part in a litter pick recently across the school grounds.
