At Inveraray Primary School, we have consulted our parents and children about our curriculum. With those consultations, we have used the artistic talents of Mrs. Moore to create the below curriculum sketchnote. Children throughout the school have also added the art work to the Curriculum display.
The children at Inveraray have a say about what they would like to learn. Each year, teachers allow the class to direct the some learning topics.
In recent years children have chosen topics to learn more about.
In P1/2 children have chosen to learn about Fairytales, Mythical Creatures and The Human Body. In P3-5 children have chosen to learn about Light & Colour, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter. And in P6/7, children have chosen to learn about Inveraray in World War 2 and Inheritance & Evolution.
Outdoor Learning
We value outdoor learning at Inveraray Primary. We have annual blocks for all children from the Early Learning Center to Primary 7 to take part in blocks of learning at the Beach and Forest Schools. Below you can see many photos pf children during Beach Schools and Forest Schools lessons.
We will make the most of outdoor learning everyday as well, taking to the outdoors as often as we can to make learning tangible and engaging for our children. Below, you can see P1/2 learning about their senses outside in our beautiful grounds.
