Forest and Beach Schools
We have had a great season of Forest and Beach Schools over the past few months in all classes. Mrs. Campbell’s lessons and liaisons with the community here are paramount to such an innovative, creative and relevant lessons about our local community.
Children have experienced time up in Glen Shira with our farmer Tom as well having the opportunity to make shelters, bird box and bug hotels. Children are afforded the opportunity to learn about specific animals and habitats local to our community such as being able to see badger dens and local stag.
Recently children have been expressive on the beach making art work.

Recent Visits
Recently we have experienced some wonderful on-site visits from a variety of specialists to teach our children across all levels.
We had Jason Zuccarini teach all classes some basic CPR to all classes. the children received certificates for this set of lessons. Thank you Mr. Zuccarini!
Additionally We have had a visit from Children’s Classic Concert. We enjoyed a performance of ‘Mistourworm’ from P3-7 as well as some art and music workshops throughout the day.
We’ve also had recent visits from the Coop with lessons all about Fairtrade and The Glasgow Science Center where we’ve learned so much about energy and fuels as well as the human body and how it works.
Additionally, P4-7 children have experienced lessons from Mark on YMI Street Drumming! This has been such a hit and we are looking forward t out performance with P4-6 next Thursday!

Class Assemblies
P1/2 were the first to kick off our term of class assemblies. They shared what they have been learning in class. Children were asked about what they would like to share and were given time to prepare and practice their presentation. They sang their favourite song that they’ve learned in class as well as sharing their dancing skills from PE. Below you can see photos from the P1/2 assembly.
We have also recently had class assemblies from P6/7 pupils who completed their own research and completed a whole class presentation, requiring a lot of technology, reading, writing and talking skills embedded.
P3-5 also presented their most recent class work to their families and the pupils in the school in an assembly. Each child was able to take some talking points to share with families. Photos of this can be seen below.

Feb 4th, 2025 was our Annual Scottish Night. We celebrated with a ceilidh and some Scottish treats in the hall. We also had dancers and pipers to join in on the fun!

We earned our tenth Green Flag in January 2025. We are one of only 2 schools in Scotland to have achieved this!
We will celebrate this with our Community in the School Hall on Tuesday March 11th, at 1:30pm. All former pupils and staff are welcome to join, as well as anyone who has contributed to supporting Inveraray Primary School in our ECO journey over the years! We look forward to celebrating with you then!
World Book Day Celebrations
Friday 7th March in the afternoon, we will celebrate World Book Day. Children are invited to bring their pajamas to school in their school bags to get changed into for the afternoon. P6/7 pupils will lead some World Book day activities in the hall. We will also offer children to take part in a book swap if they would like to, with personal books. Looking forward to enjoying these celebrations!
